The far side of complexity

“I wouldn’t give a fig for the simplicity on the near side of complexity, but I would give my right arm for the simplicity on the far side of complexity.”

– attributed to Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr.

Building a successful life science company or business is a non-trivial endeavor, requiring good information, relevant insight, effective planning, efficient execution, determination, adaptability, resources, diligence, persistence, luck and a host of other factors.

Settling on simplicity on the near side of complexity (based on assumptions, sketchy information and insufficient reflection) is a recipe for failure.  Doing the work to perceive Holmes’ simplicity on the far side of complexity (based on sufficient information, deliberation, understanding and judgment) conversely often is key to success.  Beyond Complexity Ventures (BCV) is dedicated to optimizing the odds of success by uncovering and applying the simplicity on the far side of complexity.
